Those who travel very slowly may yet make far greater progress, provided they keep always to the straight road, than those who, while they run, forsake it.
Rene Descartes, Discourse on the Method

    Floating Swirls

Swirls are some of my most preferred recursive entities.
I’ve found this unexposed setup and I reserved some spare time to finish it and push the two genomes into the rendering queue.
    This is the result.

    Spiralizer

This the result of the first result of what I was talking about in the previous post. I’m currently pushing my efforts to finishing/closing unexposed setups and rendering out the final design.

Starting from a quite traditional Spiral design; it seems to me the best way to start.

    Back to the Roaming

    13th March 2008
    Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

This is a sort of small resume.

I’m Back to the Roaming after some months of quite relative tranquility and some doldrums; the Chaotic Flow is starting to pour again.
I’ve finally started again the render-queue and today the first bunch of designs are currently crunching on the machine resources… just waiting for the output.

During the last months I was mined by a bad flu, two times in less than 20 days, that changed into a quite pestering and annoying bronchitis.
I’ve mainly used my own personal limited resources in browsing the archives and trying to arrange some of the the many flock-setups. I’ve been able to find a very big mess mass, even more than I was expecting for sure.
Most of the setups need some sort of work, mainly small adjustments or partial corrections, but they’re quite ready to be rendered.
Concluding… I don’t think I’ll go for completely new setups during the next months but I’ll face back to what I’ve already created and I’ll finally spend my time in finalizing the old good setups and deleting the bad ones.
There’s plenty of them waiting for their chance and I’d be able to provide new design for more than a couple of years just putting my fingers on them.

That’s confusing for sure, I just need… goin’ downtown.
So, this time, I’m starting to roam inside the mess of incomplete ideas rather than searching for new ones. Wise or stupid? Who knows…

This set was inspired by Manu Chao’s Politik Kills song (complete lyrics included below).

Politik kills politik kills politik kills / politik need votes / politik needs your mind / politik needs human beings / politik need lies / thats what my friend is an evidence politik is violence / what my friend is a evidence politik is violence“.

The first design is available only on NVART – Politik Kills.

    Apophysis in Java

    5th March 2008

Jean-François Bouzereau is currently porting Apophysis to a Java application.
It’s really interesting for everyone with a linux or mac machine.

    Take a look here: http://membres.lycos.fr/jfbouzereau/apophysis.html

    Current change-log

    04-mar-2008
Several bug fixes. Support of all the adjust options.

    02-mar-2008
All settings available in the options panel.

    29-feb-2008
All the variations of the original version are supported.

    27-feb-2008
This is a very first and crude version with lot of features missing. No graphical editing, no scripts, no options, no preview, no undo. But you can already create your own flames and render them.
